....the war might not end soon.

I read in a newspaper that the President of Libya's Son is now threatening the people saying that he will fight them until the last bullet. He said they will not go down like the other rulers in Ethiopia and Egypt who stepped down for the people to gain control.
I feel bad, because i know there is nothing i can do. I think we should have empathy to be able to understand what the Libyans are going through. This could have easily been any of us or people related to us. I support the government for taking action, because this could be the spark to reignite communism.

....the world would be a better place if we just stopped the war!

I am getting deeper into my research and i'm stunned at what is happening, and what has happened. It seems like everyone wants to make a difference, but don't actions speak louder than words? You stating a plan will not guarantee a result. They say the little you do can make a difference, but i guess the main question here is where do we start from?

...i like to write when i get inspired.

To live is to fight a constant battle,

Awakened to a heart full of ache,
You feel the sensation of a thousand thorns piercing through you.
Sitting and wondering if it ever ends.
Just pray.

“You prisoner of ordeal” loneliness mocks,
As it caresses you like no other.
You yearn for it to be gone,
But it’s only going away if you
Just pray.

It feels like the weight of the world crept up on you overnight,
In your mind you’re running away,
but distress seems to stick like a plague.
Just pray.

But be perseverant,
Behind every miracle lies a tear.
Every tear, leads you one step closer to your innovation.
We question the purpose of this battle,
But the answer is really simple.
Without trials, we would not thirst for GOD.
HE proves his commendability, but
You have to ask to be given.
Don’t stop and stare,
Just pray.

Playlist..

1) Waka Waka by Shakira- This song reminded me of my research topic, because a lot of war is going on in Africa today and the lyrics basically say not to give up but believe in yourself.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRpeEdMmmQ0

2) Waging war by Cece Winans- This is actually one of my favorite songs, the lyrics can be related to my topic because it talks about going into battle with the help of GOD  to take back territory.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1Zd7gGS00g

3) Ordinary people by John Legend- the song gets you thinking about mistakes people have made and are still making. It says "were just ordinary people, we don't know which way to go". Just like the people of Libya who are trying to gain their freedom but don't know how to go about it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIh07c_P4hc

4) Freedom by Akon- as the title implies, the people of Libya are fighting for their freedom.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sorn-3DHTC8

5) Even Angels by Fantasia- this songs relates to my topic because i feel it's talking about courage, how as long as you try it won't matter if you fall which i think is vital in Libya at this point in time.

PROPOSAL ARUGUMENT

Civil war has become rampant over the past couple of years in the continent of Africa. Africans have realized the importance of a democracy, and have chosen to oppose dictators. Resulting in “the jasmine revolution”, which involves countries like Egypt, Tunisia, Bahrain, and Libya.  Recently, the civil war in Libya has become severe as the Libyan President, Moammar Gadhafi, ordered a massacre. His behavior may be considered unruly.  Therefore, as a leader the president of the United States feels compelled to help protect the people of Libya.
Military colonel Moammar Gadhafi has been a dictator in the country of Libya after overthrowing their king in1969 till date. Recently, the Libyan people began to protest Gaddafi’s regime, and called for a change but to no avail. Gaddafi sent his loyal troops on a wild massacre to kill any opposing protesters, including American citizens. The United States, The United Kingdom, France, Italy, and Canada came together to assist the innocent civilians being killed in Libya. They launched a missile attack on key air defense sites across Libya to protect the civilians against Gaddafi. In addition to this, Gaddafi was asked to stop the massacres, but refused abruptly insisting that he would show no mercy to the Libyans who oppose him. After much effort, it would be beneficial for The United States to try a different approach to this persistent issue. Since some of the problems are related with funding, schools and organizations could hold fund raisers and auctions. The money yielded could be used to provide food for the Libyans, whose resources have been cut off, and fund our government to compensate for the previous money spent.
There is disagreement as to whether the United States should be funding a mission as delicate as the war in Libya. Cable Network News (CNN) had Congressman Ron Paul talk about his opinion on Obama’s intervention in the war at Libya. He said that Obama should have consulted the congress before taking action, and is draining the American economy by getting involved in yet another war. “I don’t think we have the constitutional authority or even the resources to get involved in the war at Libya” said Ron. Congressman Paul’s opinion is understood, but the United States was obligated to protect the US citizens and Libyan civilians. The massacres that have been going on in Libya have involved American Citizens, and this caused Obama to call for an evacuation. The United States is in collaboration with other countries who came together to fund the attack on Libya, so it is not a solo effort.
To understand a situation as delicate as the civil war in Libya, we should have empathy. Innocent people are dying, including US citizens, and we have the power to make a difference. So is it wrong to get involved? No, because as a leaders we should strive for the wellbeing of not just our people, but the world in general.
