I have all my papers ready to go!
I believe that we all have come a long way from the beginning of the quarter, and now its all about to be over. I enjoyed blogging, and reading blog posts because I honestly learnt a lot of new things from reading blog posts as strange as it might sound. I do believe that i have developed my ethos with the aid of all my papers, my presentation, discussion board posts, and even blogging. I have become a better writer, and i will actually miss blogging. The most interesting part of this course has been recasts, because i think most people used it as an opportunity to express themselves and how many times do people get the chance to? Not a lot of people do so i am grateful, and I feel excited although I'm scared about what next quarter holds. But I know GOD has blessed me and brought me this far so i have hope. Have a great summer and good luck on finals everyone!
p.s. I have had this song on replay almost all week. I feel much better about next quarter when i listen to it and i think you guys might like it too

..Recast!
STRANGE FACES
She use to hear of you,
And wondered how something spelt with only three letters could cause so much trouble,
People crying, phone’s ringing, footsteps getting louder, and she would ask “what is all the chaos
About?”
She didn’t understand why everyone was going crazy!
Sound like a thunderstorm
BOOM BOOM!
What’s going on?
Mommy where are you?
Daddy?
Hello?
Anybody?
*No answer*
She is her own now
It feels like quicksand
The more she struggles the more she sinks.
Fighting to get out,
But it grips without mercy.
“Be still” She screams in her head,
But her emotions seem to overshadow her mind.
Her body is unwilling.
She hears footsteps getting closer,
Its gets louder every second and strange faces surround her.
The words “HELP ME” feebly escape her lips
The strangers stop and stare at her with sympathy.
She cries to the strangers to relieve her pain being that she has no more strength of her own.
The strangers tried to pull her out gently, but the quicksand became even more vicious!
The strangers are yelling at the quicksand to let go,
But the quicksand keeps mocking indicating its scheme to fight till the finish.
The strangers are become more brutal, and attack the quicksand.
It’s now the strangers versus the quicksand.
Voices whisper that the strangers’ only want what’s underneath the soil,
Let them have it she quavered
Her body and mind desire to be free from this torment and all the strangers
Want is a piece of what’s in abundance underneath the soil.
How can the quicksand not recognize her agony?
How could three letter words rupture her world without the slightest remorse?
She has no other choice than to fight for her liberation!

....im not quite sure how i feel about this Osama issue!
When i heard that Osama bin Laden was dead i didnt know whether to be sad or happy, because i was confused what that would mean for the United States. Is the war really over? Is Osama really dead?
I don't have answers to these questions, but won't there be more hate towards the U.S from Arabs now that Osama is dead?
I feel that now that the leader for terrorism is dead all the people underneath him will be power hungry and just start a wild massacre to to see who is more powerful. I mean we have been chasing him for years, and finally we got him and then threw him in the sea?? It might actually be a tactic of Osama i mean maybe i watch to many action movies and i'm over thinking this but he could actually pop up in the nearest future! I don't know where the U.S is heading, and i don't think anyone does but i pray to GOD that better things will come from this...
...recast proposal?
So im kinda confused as to what the difference btw a recast proposal n a recast is??

...this week has been very hectic
Finally posted my critique to secs before the due date! Procrastination with a hint of the flu= last minute paper!
....playlist 2...
1) No gray by Jonathan McReynolds- this song is one of my favs! He talks about people being confused, decisions making, and how you can't be in the middle, its either you're here or there. Which relates to the position the United States is at the minute confused on what side to take.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXMnHu3_2s8
2) Fire on the mountain by Asa- its a very calm song but yet the words in the lyrics are so real! She says we need peace, no more war, we are tired of people standing around doing nothing when they can see clearly that there is trouble everywhere.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8cwIkSPFhE&feature=related
3)I'm your angel by Celine Dion ft R.kelly- an all time fav! It relates to my topic because it talks about someone lending a helping hand to you when you're in need and other nations are trying their best to help the Libyans.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nAL3krkCSE
4) Chasing pavements by Adele- "should i give up or should i just keep chasing pavements even it leads nowhere or would it be a waste?" I am pretty sure the United States is contemplating getting involved and are having seconds doubts about the war.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwTMyjTNBM8&feature=related
5) Irreplaceable by Beyonce- i remembered this song and it really weird how Libya came to my mind cause they literally telling their president to go away which is basically what the whole song is about.

THE UNITED STATES CONTRIBUTION TO THE WAR IN LIBYA
Civil war has been a reoccurring event over the years, but has recently struck Libya. Military colonel Gadhafi, leader of the Libyans for over forty years, has been challenged by the people of Libya. They are demanding that he resign his current position, because their country is in need of a democracy. Gadhafi refused to step down, but instead ordered a massacre on the civilians who opposed him. The president of The United States of America has reached out to President Gadhafi requesting that he stop killing innocent civilians but to no avail. The United States was forced to eject all Americans, and install a no fly zone on Libya. The participation of The United States of America in the war at Libya is a debatable issue.
The United States involvement in the war at Libya has been a major concern over the last couple of months. President Obama’s reason for interest in the war at Libya is being suspected. Times magazine indicated that Hilary Clinton questioned the motive behind Obama’s need for intervention in Libya if regime change was not on his list of “non- negotiable” terms. On the Cable Network News, Congressman Ron Paul voiced his view towards Obama’s involvement in the war at Libya. He said Obama should have consulted congress before launching an attack on Libya, and insisted that America doesn’t have either the funds or the authority to mediate the war at Libya. The national journal claimed that Todd Harrison, a senior fellow at the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments insinuated that The United States would increase in deficit regardless of the outcome of the war in Libya. He continued to claim that the congress would not be in support of Obama’s action as their main goal is to decrease the current deficit.
Although, there has been a reasonable amount of doubts concerning The United States involvement in the war at Libya, Obama’s decision to mediate the war has also been supported. Voice of America news claims that Obama’s launching of missiles in Libya was act to protect the population from Gadhafi. Congressman McCain was interviewed on Cable Network News, and he defended Obama’s decision to intervene in Libya calling it an “act of leadership”.
Leadership to various communities means defending the vulnerable against prejudice. In general, the main concern of both the supporters of the war in Libya and contradictors of the war is about protection from the government.

....the war might not end soon.
I read in a newspaper that the President of Libya's Son is now threatening the people saying that he will fight them until the last bullet. He said they will not go down like the other rulers in Ethiopia and Egypt who stepped down for the people to gain control.
I feel bad, because i know there is nothing i can do. I think we should have empathy to be able to understand what the Libyans are going through. This could have easily been any of us or people related to us. I support the government for taking action, because this could be the spark to reignite communism.

....the world would be a better place if we just stopped the war!
I am getting deeper into my research and i'm stunned at what is happening, and what has happened. It seems like everyone wants to make a difference, but don't actions speak louder than words? You stating a plan will not guarantee a result. They say the little you do can make a difference, but i guess the main question here is where do we start from?

...i like to write when i get inspired.
To live is to fight a constant battle,
Awakened to a heart full of ache,
You feel the sensation of a thousand thorns piercing through you.
Sitting and wondering if it ever ends.
Just pray.
“You prisoner of ordeal” loneliness mocks,
As it caresses you like no other.
You yearn for it to be gone,
But it’s only going away if you
Just pray.
It feels like the weight of the world crept up on you overnight,
In your mind you’re running away,
but distress seems to stick like a plague.
Just pray.
But be perseverant,
Behind every miracle lies a tear.
Every tear, leads you one step closer to your innovation.
We question the purpose of this battle,
But the answer is really simple.
Without trials, we would not thirst for GOD.
HE proves his commendability, but
You have to ask to be given.
Don’t stop and stare,
Just pray.

Playlist..
1) Waka Waka by Shakira- This song reminded me of my research topic, because a lot of war is going on in Africa today and the lyrics basically say not to give up but believe in yourself.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRpeEdMmmQ0
2) Waging war by Cece Winans- This is actually one of my favorite songs, the lyrics can be related to my topic because it talks about going into battle with the help of GOD to take back territory.

3) Ordinary people by John Legend- the song gets you thinking about mistakes people have made and are still making. It says "were just ordinary people, we don't know which way to go". Just like the people of Libya who are trying to gain their freedom but don't know how to go about it.

4) Freedom by Akon- as the title implies, the people of Libya are fighting for their freedom.

5) Even Angels by Fantasia- this songs relates to my topic because i feel it's talking about courage, how as long as you try it won't matter if you fall which i think is vital in Libya at this point in time.

PROPOSAL ARUGUMENT
Civil war has become rampant over the past couple of years in the continent of Africa. Africans have realized the importance of a democracy, and have chosen to oppose dictators. Resulting in “the jasmine revolution”, which involves countries like Egypt, Tunisia, Bahrain, and Libya. Recently, the civil war in Libya has become severe as the Libyan President, Moammar Gadhafi, ordered a massacre. His behavior may be considered unruly. Therefore, as a leader the president of the United States feels compelled to help protect the people of Libya.
Military colonel Moammar Gadhafi has been a dictator in the country of Libya after overthrowing their king in1969 till date. Recently, the Libyan people began to protest Gaddafi’s regime, and called for a change but to no avail. Gaddafi sent his loyal troops on a wild massacre to kill any opposing protesters, including American citizens. The United States, The United Kingdom, France, Italy, and Canada came together to assist the innocent civilians being killed in Libya. They launched a missile attack on key air defense sites across Libya to protect the civilians against Gaddafi. In addition to this, Gaddafi was asked to stop the massacres, but refused abruptly insisting that he would show no mercy to the Libyans who oppose him. After much effort, it would be beneficial for The United States to try a different approach to this persistent issue. Since some of the problems are related with funding, schools and organizations could hold fund raisers and auctions. The money yielded could be used to provide food for the Libyans, whose resources have been cut off, and fund our government to compensate for the previous money spent.
There is disagreement as to whether the United States should be funding a mission as delicate as the war in Libya. Cable Network News (CNN) had Congressman Ron Paul talk about his opinion on Obama’s intervention in the war at Libya. He said that Obama should have consulted the congress before taking action, and is draining the American economy by getting involved in yet another war. “I don’t think we have the constitutional authority or even the resources to get involved in the war at Libya” said Ron. Congressman Paul’s opinion is understood, but the United States was obligated to protect the US citizens and Libyan civilians. The massacres that have been going on in Libya have involved American Citizens, and this caused Obama to call for an evacuation. The United States is in collaboration with other countries who came together to fund the attack on Libya, so it is not a solo effort.
To understand a situation as delicate as the civil war in Libya, we should have empathy. Innocent people are dying, including US citizens, and we have the power to make a difference. So is it wrong to get involved? No, because as a leaders we should strive for the wellbeing of not just our people, but the world in general.

Ideas for Research
1) Social networking- I'm interested in this topic because i am a very big fan of Facebook, twitter, Skype, and Myspace. I am hoping to find out whether there are limits in place, and how much access is given to outsiders when viewing our profiles.
2) War in Libya- I'm interested in this topic because there has been a lot of fighting going on this year. I am hoping to find out whether the United States involvement has a positive or negative effect.
3) Drinking age- I'm interested in this topic because there has been some controversy over this matter for some time. I am hoping to find out why the US can send 18 year olds to war but not allow them to drink?
4) Financial aid for students- I'm interested in this because as a student i know how much work it takes to make sure all our expenses are paid for. I hope to find out if there are any laws in place to address more specific needs when it comes to fafsa.
5) Hyper-sexualization of Pre-adolescents- I'm interested in this topic because i been earing about little kids getting pregnant and i think not much is being done about it. I am hoping to find a way to help create more awareness and find out what age would be perfect for kids to start learning about sexuality.
